Modification notes

26.9.01

Replaces STIP 40.10-029 dated 24.09.2001

A reactivation of the system is always required on vehicles with the "tire pressure control system" (TPC) special equipment wherever the tire inflation pressure is altered, wheels or tires are changed or new wheels mounted to the vehicle.

This applies in particular to deliveries of new vehicles with code 475 (TPC) in which the tire pressure has to be set to a specified value for the vehicle as part of the delivery inspection, whereby a reactivation of the TPC is absolutely necessary (generally new vehicles have their tire inflation pressure set to 3.0 bar ex factory).

After correcting the tire inflation pressure and activation of the TPC system it can start to issue warnings with immediate effect, although tire inflation pressure is not displayed in the multifunction display.

Tire inflation pressure values are displayed after the elapse of a few minutes of a journey. The delivery inspection does not require vehicles to be driven anymore. (Please inform the customers.)

In order to ensure that the delivery inspection procedure for activating the TPC system is a standard one, it is described once again below:
