MODEL 202 with CODE (236a) Special light circuit for daytime running lamps
Vehicles intended for Norway, Sweden, Canada and Iceland must be equipped with daytime running lamps. In these countries the law stipulates that vehicles driving during the daytime must have the low beams switched on and that the low beams must switch on automatically when the engine is started.
The daytime running lamp version, i.e. the scope of the lamps installed, differs between European countries and Canada.
Version in Norway, Sweden and Iceland:
Parking light
Low beam
Taillamp
Canadian version:
Clearance lamps
Low beam
Taillamp
License plate lamps
The daytime running lamps are actuated and controlled by the daytime running lamp control module (N35).
The daytime running lamp control module switches on the corresponding lamps as soon as the motor starts running with exterior lighting switched off. The daytime running lamp control module receives D+ from the generator G2 for recognition of engine operation.
The daytime running lamps are switched off by switching on the parking lamps or the low beams with the exterior light switch S1.
