Function sequence
Unlocking from outside with key or from inside with door handle

1 Prerequisite:
Door closed and locked.

2 Unlocking operation started mechanically from outside with key in door lock (1) or from inside with door handle (2).

3 The mechanical unlocking operation is sensed by a changeover switch in the locking motor (M11 or M12) in the door and on vehicles not equipped according to the GGVS guidelines reported immediately to the ZV/KSA control module (A23).

4 The signal from the changeover switch causes the ZV/KSA control module to actuate the locking motor (M11 or M12) and the cab interior lighting. The locking motor in the driver's or passenger door moves to the "unlocked" position and the interior lighting (entry lamp/interior lamp on driver and passenger sides) is switched on for max. 10 s.

Only the door is unlocked at which the locking operation was actuated mechanically.

The interior lighting goes out immediately when the ignition is switched on within the next 10 s. However, it remains on for max. 5 minutes when a door is opened and not closed again.

On vehicles equipped according to GGVS guidelines the door is unlocked mechanically only. Such vehicles have a battery isolation switch which interrupts the entire power supply when the ignition is switched off. The locking motor therefore moves to the "unlocked" position only after the ignition is switched on.
