Location

The fuel tank (5) is installed behind the rear axle.

Task

The fuel tank (5) serves to store the fuel.

Body

The fuel tank (5) consists of plastic. The fuel feed module is located in the middle in the fuel tank (5). The fuel pump with fill level sensor (M3/3) is integrated into the fuel feed module. The housing of the fuel feed module serves as a swirl pot. In the case of cornering with a low fuel level in the fuel tank (5) it prevents the fuel pump with fill level sensor (M3/3) sucking in air. A fuel strainer is installed below as a coarse filter for the feed from the fuel pump with fill level sensor (M3/3).

Function

The fuel is stored in the fuel tank (5). The fuel pump with fill level sensor (M3/3) sucks in the fuel through the fuel strainer from the fuel feed module. The fuel pump with fill level sensor (M3/3) then pumps the suctioned fuel over the fuel filter (6) with an integral overflow valve to the fuel system high pressure pump.
