Location

The fuel tank is positioned at the frame floor ahead of the rear axle because of the through-loading facility (from trunk into passenger compartment).

Design

The fuel tank consists of 2-layered plastic. It is split into 2 chambers by the U-form cutout. The chambers are connected to each other.

Function

The swirl pot is located in the right fuel tank chamber in the fuel tank. It ensures that there is a sufficient and free of bubbles fuel supply to the engine for a low fuel level and during long cornering.

The swirl pot is filled with fuel over the suction jet pump on the right and left.

The fuel pump is located in the swirl pot which delivers fuel over the fuel strainer out of the swirl pot to the fuel main filter.

The swirl pot with fuel pump and suction jet pump on the right is called the fuel feed module.
