18.3.04

MODEL 240 with CODE (475) Tire pressure indicator

Function

The operating condition "soft warning" (reminder, display color: yellow) is marked by a minimum tire pressure, at which driving safety continues to be guaranteed. The driver is asked to correct the tire inflation pressure by a display in the multifunction display (A1p13) in the instrument cluster (A1).A "soft warning" is triggered if the tire inflation pressure as rated by temperature is > 0.2 bar and < 0.4 bar less than the stored specified pressure.

As from 01.02.04 a "soft warning" is actuated if the tire inflation pressure is > 0.25 bar and < 0.4 bar less than the stored value.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This takes place for the first time in the next ignition sequence and is displayed for approx. 30 seconds. The driver is therefore requested to check the tire inflation pressures and correct them if necessary and then reactivate the tire pressure monitor (TPM) system.

If the tire inflation pressure rated by temperature is > 0.4 bar under the stored specified pressure, a "hard warning" appears (display color: red).

The "hard warning" is only displayed in the same ignition sequence. A "soft warning" is displayed in the next ignition sequence. If the system is not reactivated, the "soft warning" is repeated for approx. 30 seconds each time the engine is started and then goes out again.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The driver is advised to stop and check the condition of the tires immediately. The driver is responsible for deciding whether to continue driving at low speed to the next specialist workshop or whether a repair (fitting the spare wheel or using TIREFIT) is necessary on site.

As from 01.06.03 in parallel to the "hard warning" the yellow tire pressure monitor warning lamp (A1e66) in the instrument cluster (A1) is actuated. This goes out again after the tire pressure monitor system (TPM) is reactivated.
