Notes on testing

The following work is the same for all test steps

Connection schematic for test instruments to hydraulic unit (Fig. 1)

Tighten check valve 129 589 08 63 00 to 5 Nm.

If hydraulic lines are disconnected from the valve blocks during pressure

tests, ensure that the required soft top positions (end positions of hydraulic cylinders) are set first.

All required soft top positions can be set with the soft top switch or manually (emergency actuation, ignition: OFF).
The soft top compartment cover can be locked and unlocked with the special wrench (vehicle tool kit) (see introduction into service Model 124.061, 300CE-24 Convertible).
If the lock is defective, the soft top bow can only be opened by screwing the locking pin out of the brace from the vehicle passenger compartment.

Pressure test

Do not reach into soft top linkage, upper section of windshield or soft top compartment while soft top is being locked or unlocked (injury hazard).
The hydraulic circuits associated with the soft top sequence in question and their hydraulic components can be checked separately.
Hold disconnected hydraulic lines in a vessel during pressure tests (attach transparent hose, e.g. from windshield washer).
Replace hydraulic components in the event of oil loss. During pressure tests the connections to the valve blocks may be plugged with plugs
129 589 00 91 01 only.

If hydraulic components are replaced during repair work, disconnected hydraulic lines must be plugged with plugs 129 589 00 91 07 and the connections to the valve blocks and hydraulic cylinders with plugs
129 589 00 91 11 immediately (contamination hazard).
