1 Prepare new part for installation and expose pre-primed weld flanges.
Install any reinforcement plates, cotters and tapped plates.
Weld hole spacing 40-50 mm, larger on straight sections, smaller on curved sections.

2 Fit new part.
For butt joints of the outer skin carry out the fitting cut in the installed condition through both material layers and butt-weld.
For butt joints of load carrying components weld parts so that they are reinforced or overlap as well.

3 Install new part, align and fix.
Depending on the component, check gaps, window dimension, edge offset, measurement point offset and reference points in relation to adjacent components.
If possible, use existing bolted connections for fixing.
4 Tack on new part and again check reference edges/reference points.
Ensure that no stresses are introduced during installation.

5 Carry out complete welding operation.
6 Grind weld seams and weld holes and protect against corrosion.
Prevent corrosion by immediate application of welding primer.
7 Provide replaced components with underbody protection at points previously treated by the plant, spray cavities with corrosion protection agent.
8 Seal weld connections.
In the floor area and where accessible seal from inside and outside.
