Lift/jack up vehicle

Remove tailpipe of exhaust system

For vehicles with tailpipe.

Loosen pipe clamp (4) and push to the front until the main muffler (1) can be removed

 Installation: Inspect pipe clamp (4), replace if necessary. The main muffler (1) must be aligned before tightening the pipe clamp (4).

Remove spring washer (2)

For vehicles without code (MS3) Emissions level Euro 3.

 Installation: Replace spring washer (2).

Guide and remove main muffler (1) out of rubber hangers (3)

 Installation: check rubber hangers (3) for damage, replace if necessary.

Install in the reverse order

 Danger!

Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running

Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Perform engine test run and inspect exhaust system for leaks in the area of main muffler (1)
