MODEL

Set the clock spring contact to center position

The center position of the clock spring contact (2) is crucial for trouble-free operation of the airbag and signaling system.
This is assured in removed condition by the bolts (1).
If the clock spring contact (2) is twisted nevertheless, e. g.
when the steering coupling has been removed
when the bolts (1) have been completely removed
The center position is to be determined as follows:

1

Remove clock spring contact (2).

2

Screw bolts (1) all the way into clock spring contact (2).

3

Turn clock spring contact (2) as far to the left until a slight resistance is detectable.

The clock spring contact (2) is rolled up completely.

4

Rotate the clock spring contact (2) 3 to 3.5 revolutions clockwise (turn back) until the bolts (1) can be unscrewed again through the openings and fix the steering wheel clock spring contact (2) in place.

The entire slewing range of the clock spring contact (2) is 6 to 7 revolutions.
