Remove the drive cylinder from the longitudinal differential lock

Caution when removing the cap screws of the longitudinal differential lock drive cylinder.
The pressure spring is tensioned.

Remove the screws (2) and remove the passing axle cap (1)

Caution when removing the passing axle cap (1).
The pressure spring is tensioned under the shift fork.

Remove the outer raceway (4) of the tapered roller bearing with the compensator washer (3)

Only when the passing axle cap (1) or the tapered roller bearing is replaced.

Install

Clean the sealing surface of the passing axle cap (1) and the longitudinal differential housing (5)

Install the outer raceway (4) of the tapered roller bearing with the compensator washer (3)

Only when the passing axle cap (1) or the tapered roller bearing is replaced.

Adjust the axial clearance of the longitudinal differential

Only when the passing axle cap (1) or the tapered roller bearing is replaced.

Install the passing axle cap (1) and tighten the bots (2) with the prescribed torque

Use a screwdriver to align the shift fork and the compression spring on the longitudinal differential housing.
Apply sealing compound to the surface of the longitudinal differential (5)
