Remove

Remove transmission shaft

Unlock the collar nut (1)


The nut lock with rebound (1) should be completely cut.
Otherwise small fragments may damage the threaded shaft when the collar nut (1) is removed.

Remove the collar nut (1)


Do not use the impact tool to remove the collar nut (1).
Otherwise the tapered roller bearings of the axle may be damaged.

Install drive flange (2) with the protection plate (3)

 Puller

Remove the radial seal(4) from the differential housing



Check

Check the sealing surface of the drive flange (2) in the sealing ring area of the radial retainer (4)

If the sealing surface of the drive flange (2) has damage or wear:



A new drive flange (2) and a new radial retainer (4) should be installed.



Install

Install a new radial retainer (4) on the differential housing

Install drive flange (2) with the protection plate (3)

 Lightly lubricate the radial retainer surface (4) over the drive flange (2).

Hypoid gear oil

Install the collar nut (1)


Do not use the impact tool to tighten the collar nut (1).
Otherwise the axle tapered roller bearings may be damaged.
