1 | Removal and Refitment of Rear Axle With Balancer Type Suspension | ||
2 | Loosen wheel nuts (1) | By using 32 mm wheel spanner and T rod. | |
Installation: By using 32 mm hexagonal socket and torque wrench. | |||
3 | Place the hydraulic jack (2) below the rear axle in the jack support point and lift the rear axle assembly | Ensure that the jack is in contact with the metal portion ‘U’ bolt mounting weld bracket of the axle frame area. | |
4 | Support using tripod stands (3) on both sides to the chassis frame and rear axle | ||
5 | Remove the rear wheel nuts (1) | By using 32 mm hexagonal socket and T -rod. | |
6 | Remove the propeller shaft flange (4) from differential input flange | By using 18 mm hexagonal socket and ratchet. | |
Support the propeller shaft by hand to prevent it from dropping down. | |||
Installation: By using 18 mm hexagonal socket and torque wrench. | |||
7 | Disconnect the LHS ABS wheel speed sensor electrical connector (5) | ||
8 | Disconnect the RHS ABS wheel speed sensor electrical connectors (6) | ||
9 | Disconnect the differential lock electrical connector (7) | ||
10 | Remove the flexible air pipe (8) from differential | ||
11 | Remove the breather pipe (9) from differential | ||
12 | Remove the both side compressed air brake lines (10) from spring brake actuator | By using 24 mm open-end spanner. | |
13 | Remove the anti-roll bar both side bearing cap (11) | By using 21 mm hexagonal socket and ratchet. | |
Installation: Using 21 mm hexagonal socket and torque wrench. | |||
14 | Remove the anti-roll bar (12) from link rod on both the sides | By using 24 mm hexagonal socket and ratchet. | |
Installation: By using 24 mm hexagonal socket and torque wrench. | |||
15 | Remove the link rod (13) on both sides from chassis bracket | ||
16 | Remove link rod mounting bracket (14) from chassis on both the sides | By using 21 mm hexagonal socket and ratchet. | |
Installation: By using 21 mm hexagonal socket and torque wrench. | |||
17 | Remove the leaf spring mounting U-clamps (15) from rear axle on both the sides | By using 36 mm hexagonal socket and ratchet. | |
Installation: Using 36 mm hexagonal socket and torque wrench. | |||
18 | Support the rear axle using hydraulic jack (2) to relieve load from leaf spring assemblies | ||
19 | Remove the U clamps (15) and spring seats from the leaf spring on both the sides | ||
20 | Place and support the rear axle assembly (16) under the vehicle using trolley jack and carefully lower it away from the springs | ||
21 | Install in the reverse order | ||

Remove/install cover of rear axle differential | |||
