1 | Remove the drain plug (1) to drain the oil | ||
2 | Pull out the breather hose (2) of different lock unit from the differential casing | ||
3 | Disconnect the electrical connector of differential lock sensor (3) | ||
4 | Remove the flexible air hose adapter (4) of differential lock on axle | ||
5 | Remove the differential lock sensor (5) and install the dummy bolt instead of sensor on the slot of the differential lock sensor | By using 24 mm hexagonal socket and ratchet. | |
By using 27 mm hexagonal socket and wrench. | |||
Ensure that before removing the axle shaft from the axle housing dummy bolt needs to be installed instead of differential sensor. | |||
6 | Disconnect the electrical connector of inter axle lock sensor (5) | ||
7 | Remove the flexible air hose adapter (4) of inter axle lock on axle | ||
8 | Remove the mud flap (6) from the load body by removing the bolts | By using 18 mm socket and wrench. | |
9 | Remove the propeller shaft (7) between the rear forward axle drive head flange and transmission flange | By using 18 mm hexagonal socket and wrench. | |
10 | Remove the intermediate shaft (8) from the rear forward axle and rear rearward axle | By using 18 mm socket and wrench. | |
Support the propeller shaft by hand to prevent it dropping down. | |||
11 | Attach removal fixture (9) to differential assembly | ||
12 | Jack up the wheels using a proper jacking machine and support vehicle frame using tripod stand | ||
13 | Remove the wheels | Remove/install wheels | |
14 | Disconnect the flexible brake line air hoses (10) on the rear forward axle spring brake actuators from the port no 11 and 12 | By using 24 open-end wrench. | |
15 | Lift the axle casing using jib crane to relieve the spring support bracket | ||
16 | Remove the torque rod (11) between the link bracket and trunnion bracket | By using 30 mm hexagonal socket and ratchet. | |
17 | Remove the spring seat (12) and link bracket (13) from the axle housing | By using 30 mm hexagonal socket and ratchet. | |
18 | Remove the V-rod (14) from the axle housing | By using 36 mm hexagonal socket and ratchet. | |
19 | Lower the axle housing and support on the conventional crawler cum trolley jack | ||

20 | Position and lift axle housing under the vehicle using conventional crawler cum trolley jack and jib crane | ||
21 | Install the V-rod (14) to the axle housing | By using 36 mm hexagonal socket and ratchet. | |

22 | Install the spring seat (12) and link bracket (13) to the axle housing | By using 30 mm hexagonal socket and torque wrench. | |

23 | Install the torque rod (11) between the link bracket and trunnion bracket | By using 30 mm hexagonal socket and torque wrench. | |

24 | Relieve load from the axle and remove the jib crane and conventional crawler cum trolley jack | ||
25 | Connect the flexible brake line air hoses (10) on the rear forward axle spring brake actuators to the port no 11 and 12 | By using 24 mm open-end wrench. | |
26 | Install the wheels | Remove/install wheels | |
27 | Jack up the wheels using a proper jacking machine and support vehicle frame using tripod stand | Clean sealing surface on axle housing and on differential assembly and coat with sealing compound. | |
28 | Install the intermediate shaft (8) to the rear forward axle and rear rearward axle | By using 18 mm hexagonal socket and wrench. | |
While installation support the propeller shaft by hand, to prevent it dropping down. | |||
29 | Install the propeller shaft (7) to the transmission flange and rear rearward axle | By using 21mm hexagonal socket and torque wrench. | |
30 | Install the flexible air hose adapter (4) of differential lock on axle | ||
31 | Remove the dummy bolt (15) and install the differential lock sensor | By using 27 mm hexagonal socket and wrench and using 24 mm hexagonal socket and wrench. | |
32 | Connect the harness socket on the differential lock sensor and install the flexible air hose adapter (4) of inter axle lock on axle | ||
33 | Connect the electrical socket (3) of the inter axle lock sensor | ||
34 | Install the mud flap (6) to the load body | By using 18 mm hexagonal socket and wrench. | |
35 | Install the drain plug (1) to the axle housing | ||
36 | Remove the refilling cap on the axle housing and pour the differential oil specific quantity | Oil to be filled at 10mm below the filler plug level. |
