Risk of death from lowering vehicle when working between wheels and body. Risk of injury from pinching or crushing when working on the air suspension.

Testing and repair work between the wheel and wheel arch or in the wheel well should only be performed if the vehicle is secured using suitable support fixtures to prevent it from lowering.
Adjustment operations should only be performed from underneath the vehicle.
Use only suitable support fixtures to secure the vehicle frame or vehicle axles in order to prevent them from lowering.
If necessary, additionally use suitable support fixtures in order to prevent other moving vehicle parts that are in the working area from lowering, or use suitable retaining devices to prevent these parts from moving suddenly and without warning.
Secure areas with moving vehicle parts against unauthorized access.

Remove/install

Deactivate air suspension

Raise vehicle

Remove expansion rivets (2)

Take off cover (1)

 Installation: Only install cover (1) after the leak test.

Disconnect air compressor electrical connector, 2-pin (A10x1)

Remove plug from bracket (4)

7

Release and disconnect air intake hose (5) from compressor (A10)

Close off connections at air intake hose (5) and at compressor (A10) with stop plugs

 Record plug

Release and disconnect drain hose (6) from air compressor solenoid valve (A10y1)

Close off connections at drain hose (6) and at air compressor solenoid valve (A10y1) with stop plugs

 Record plug

Unscrew compressed air line (7) from air compressor solenoid valve (A10y1)

 Installation: Replace seal.

 Air coupling at compressor, valve unit, air suspension bellows, compressed air reservoir

Close off connections at compressed air line (7) and at air compressor solenoid valve (A10y1) with stop plugs

 Record plug

Disconnect electrical connector (8) at air compressor solenoid valve (A10y1)

Unscrew screws/bolts (9) at compressor (A10), counterhold nuts (14) while doing so, and remove with springs (12) and spacer sleeves (13)

Remove compressor (A10) from below

Remove spacer sleeves (10) from mounts (11)



Check

Check mount (11) for damage and wear

If damaged or worn



Replace mount (11)

Install in the reverse order


