Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

Remove air filter housing

 Installation: Install air filter housing only after ventilation of clutch actuation system.

Unclip hose (1) from holder

Remove vent line (2)

 To do so, unclip vent line (2) from holder and detach from transmission.

Unclip electrical wiring harness (3)

Unhook shift cables (4)

 Unhook shift cables (4) from ball heads only.

Detach hydraulic line (5)

 To do so, unclip hydraulic line (5) from holder, and lift up both safety clips. Seal the connections and collect the discharged brake fluid.

Unclip electrical wiring harness (6) from transmission housing

 Installation: Check retaining clips for damage.

If retaining clip is damaged.



Replace damaged retaining clip.

Remove shift cables (4) from holder

Remove front crossmember

Disconnect electrical connector (7)

Remove bracket (8)

 To do so, remove bolt (9) and unscrew nut (17).

 Bolt, front axle carrier to longitudinal frame member

Remove holder for heating element on coolant preheating

 For this purpose, remove screws (10). Heating element for the coolant preheating remains in the vehicle.

Lower engine using engine support fixture


Lower the engine only far enough to gain access to the transmission.
Otherwise damage may occur to the right engine mount.

Remove stud bolt (16)

 To do so, unfasten nuts and remove stud bolt (16).

Remove transmission

 Have a 2nd person assist you.

Replace central clutch release bearing

Install in the reverse order



Check

Check transmission oil level

 Replace oil filler screw.

Correct transmission oil level.
