Danger! | Risk of personal and material damage when cranking the engine with the gearbox shifted in gear. Risk of personal damages, when carrying out jobs with the engine heated-up and running. | Be sure the gearbox is in neutral. Utilize appropriate clothes and pay attention to engine parts heated-up and moving.
All plastic clamps cut-off during disassembly are to be replaced at assembly.
1 | Turn-off the master switch, or disconnect the battery negative lead. | Remove cable bolt on the side rail, avoiding disconnection at the poles.
2 | Tilting the engine hood and latching it with the safety rod.
3 | Remove the after-cooler (2). | LA engines .
Danger! | Risk of burns by hot coolant under pressure when opening the system's cap. | Do not remove the compensation reservoir cap when the system's temperature is above 90 °C. Should it be absolutely necessary to remove the cooling system cap with the engine hot (above 50 degrees) proceed carefully to avoid accidents. Cover the cap with a thick rag and carefully turn the cap to the 1st notch and let the steam escape, before removing it. Use protective clothes.
4 | Draining the cooling system coolant. | Catch the oil in a container and eliminate it ecologically.
Installing: Fill the system with fresh coolant in the specified quantity and proportion.
| |||
5 | Slacken the clamps of the engine hoses (5) and (6). | Installing: Check the clamps and hoses and if necessary: Replace them.
6 | Unscrew the bolts (9) and move the deflector (8) away from the radiator.
