Disassembly

1

Remove oil pump.

Remove screws (1) and cover (2).

Remove driven gear (3).

Remove drive gear (6) from drive gear shaft (4).

 Primary oil pump.

 Use the extractor or 

Attach gear (6) to a suitable base and extract it under pressure by means of a suitable mandrel.

Remove drive gear (4).



Check

6

Check gears (3 and 4), cover (2), and pump housing (5) for damage and excessive wear.

 Replace as necessary.

 Gears (3 and 4) must be replaced in pairs.

Check gear shafts (3 and 4) cover seatings (2), and pump housing (5) for signs of wear.

Shaft seating diameters in pump housing and pump cover.

Insert gears (3 and 4) into their seatings in pump housing (5) and check clearance between teeth and radial clearance of gears (3 and 4).

Measure clearance between gears and interior housing walls.

Use a spacing template to measure clearance between inner pump gear teeth.

Use adequate safety equipment while handling hot components.

Heat gear (6) evenly.

 Temperature 80 oC.

Insert gear/shaft (4) into its seating in pump housing (5).

Mount drive gear (6) under pressure on the primary oil pump.

 Assure correct mounting position (H) for gear (6) on gear shaft (4).

Mount gear/shaft (3) in its seating in pump housing (5).

Mount cover (2) and screws (1).



Measure axial clearing of oil pump gears (3 and 4).

Rest support (8) on the pump and position gauge (7) in a way that the feeler touches the end of gear shaft (3/4) with a certain amount of preload. Press gear shaft (3/4) axially to one side and set gauge (7) to “0”. Press gear shaft 3/4) to the opposite side and take note of the gauge reading (7).

 In case of irregularities, replace or repair the oil pump.

Install oil pumps.

Lubricate inner oil pump gears through suction orifice.
