Danger | Risk of death when working on component parts and systems with U >= 30 V alternating voltage (AC) or U >= 60 V direct voltage (DC) | Do not touch damaged or defective live component parts and lines or non-insulated electrical connections and lines.
Warning | Risk of injury to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolantspray. Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant. | Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Topical note | General information on handling vehicles with high-voltage on-board electrical system and/or lithium-ion battery and/or gaseous-fuel drive system
| Check | ||
1 | Remove cap (1) of the main circuit coolant expansion reservoir. | Turn cap (1) counterclockwise only up to the safety catch and relieve overpressure. Then unscrew cap (1).
2 | Check the cap (1) for corrosion. | If corrosion is present,
| |||
change the cap (1). | |||
3 | Attach the adapter (2) to the hose of the pressure pump (3). | Adapter

4 | Attach cap (1) to the adapter (2). | Adapter
5 | Slowly apply test pressure to the cap (1) and establish opening pressure. | Build up the test pressure by max. 0.4 bar per second until the opening pressure is reached.
