1 | Remove the head cover | For free vent engines. | |
For engines with regulating valve (PCV). | |||
2 | Remove the fuel filter | Except engines 374.991/993 | |
3 | Disconnect the injection line unscrewing the nuts (5) on injection pump and the nuts (7) on the injector holders | | |
4 | Unscrew the hollow bolts (9) and remove the fuel return line (8) | ||
5 | Loosen the internal plug (6a), and the external plug (6), the front clamp (2) and rear clamp (3) and remove the injection line and the return line | ||
| Installing | ||
6 | Install the front injection line | On the injector holders and on the pump in the following order: 4-cylinder engine: first and second cylinders; tighten the nuts (6) and (7) manually. 6-cylinder engine: first, second and third cylinders; tighten the nuts (6) and (7) manually. | |
7 | Install the front clamp (2) of the line. | ||
8 | Install the rear injection line | On the injector holders and on the pump in the following order: | |
4-cylinder engine: third and fourth cylinders; tighten the nuts (6) and (7) manually. 6-cylinder engine: fourth, fifth and sixth cylinders; tighten the nuts (6) and (7) manually. | |||
9 | Install the rear clamp (3) of the line. | ||
10 | Install filling plug (6) in the cylinder head. | Apply sealing compound on the thread of the plugs (6) and tighten them firmly. | |
11 | Install the internal plug (6a) | ||
12 | Install the nuts (5) of the injection pump and (7) of the injector holders | | |

13 | Install the return line (8) with new sealing clamps (10) | | |
14 | Install the plug (6) and the plug (6a) of the return line | Apply sealing compound on the thread of the plugs (6) and tighten them firmly. | |
15 | Install the fuel filter | Except engines 374.991/993 | |
Only on engines with fuel filter installed in front of the lines in the area of the injection pump. | |||
16 | Run the engine and check for tightness of the lines | ||
17 | Install the cylinder head cover | For free vent engines. | |
For engines with regulating valve (PCV). |
