| Remove/install | ||
1 | Check and correct oil level
| |||
2 | Warm up engine to normal operating temperature
3 | Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmission range (min. 2 m)
4 | Remove cylinder head cover
Installation: Only install upper engine cover after the leak test.
5 | Turn engine at center bolt on crankshaft until the cams of the camshaft on the valve clearance compensating element to be checked point upwards
Socket wrench bit | |||
If the roller-type cam follower (1) does not touch the cam.
| |||
Replace valve clearance compensating element.
| Check | ||
6 | Compress valve clearance compensating element; to do this depress the roller-type cam follower (1) using a suitable drift (01)
The valve clearance compensating element should not be pressed together with the normal force of the hand but only very slowly when applying a strong pressure.
If the valve clearance compensating element drops too strongly.
| |||
Replace valve clearance compensating element.
If a number of valve clearance compensating elements are defective.
| |||
Check compress oil supply of cylinder head.
7 | Install in the reverse order
