8 | Place piston on cylinder 1 to top dead center (OT) of the work cycle (ignition TDC) | The TDC marking on the belt pulley with vibration damper (5) must align with the positioning edge on timing case cover (1) (arrow). The cams of the inlet camshaft and the exhaust camshaft at cylinder 1 must be positioned up at an angle.
Installation: Inspect basic position of camshafts.
9 | Detach belt pulley of coolant pump (6)
10.1 | Remove refrigerant compressor and hang up to the side with connected lines | For vehicles with code (HH9) Regulated air conditioning, (Tempmatic)
10.2 | Remove guide pulley (2) | For vehicles without code (HH9) Regulated air conditioning, (Tempmatic)
11 | Remove chain tensioner
12 | Remove center bolt on belt pulley with vibration damper (5) and belt pulley with vibration damper (5)
| |||
13 | Unscrew bolt (3) from intake muffler (4)
14 | Remove power steering pump on cylinder head and hang up to the side with attached hoses
15 | Remove screw/bolts (11, 12) and push supercharger (10) away a little with attached electrical line from engine | Push supercharger (10) away a little in order to avoid damage on supercharger (10) and the electrical line.
| |||
| |||
16 | Pull out guide rail pins at cylinder head
| |||
| |||
17 | Remove cylinder head at timing case cover (1) bolts (13)
| |||
18 | Remove timing case cover (1) bolts | Installation: Observe bolt plan for timing case cover (1).
| |||
19 | Detach timing case cover (1) from cylinder crankcase and take off | Push supercharger (10) away a little in order to avoid damage on supercharger (10) and the electrical line.
Warm sealing mass for timing case cover (1) using a heat gun and then pry off the timing case cover (1) carefully. An assistant is necessary to press away the supercharger (10). Catch coolant with suitable vessel. Remove coolant residue immediately.
Hot-air gun gotis://K_60-65_11.0
Installation: Install new sealing rings (17, 18). An assistant is necessary to press away the supercharger (10). Clean sealing surfaces on crankcase and on timing case cover (1). Coat sealing surface on the timing case cover (1) with sealant.
