01 Compression recorder

Remove/install

Bring engine to operating temperature (approx. 80°C)

Only test compression pressure when engine is at normal operating temperature.

Remove spark plugs

Crank engine with starter

Do not crank engine at steering lock but use contact switch of the compression recorder.

Crank engine several times with the starter to eliminate combustion residues in the cylinder.

Checking

Insert compression recorder (01) into spark plug bore

Open throttle valve

Crank engine with starter

Do not crank engine at steering lock but use contact switch of the compression recorder.

To check the compression pressure, crank engine by at least 8 revolutions.

Carry out test procedure at remaining cylinders in the same way

Compare measurements obtained with the specified pressures

If the pressure is below the minimum compression pressure or if the permissible difference between the individual cylinders is exceeded

Check cylinders for leaks
