Remove/install

Remove spark plugs.



Open service flap on fender liner in right front fender.



Check

Rotate engine at crankshaft center bolt in the direction of engine rotation until piston of cylinder to be checked is at bottom dead center.

 Socket wrench bit

Connect endoscope (1) and insert flexible endoscope through the threaded hole for the spark plug into the cylinder to be checked.

Check cylinder barrel, piston crown, and valves.

General information on inspecting cylinder walls

 If there is "scoring" (wear to the cylinder), the cylinder barrel has become rough and the honing marks are no longer visible.

If the condition of the cylinder barrel is not clearly recognizable,



Remove cylinder head.
