Danger | Risk of death when working on component parts and systems with U >= 30 V alternating voltage (AC) or U >= 60 V direct voltage (DC) | Do not touch damaged or defective live component parts and lines or non-insulated electrical connections and lines.
Danger | Risk of explosion due to escaping combustible gas or overheating of gas cylinders.Risk of injury caused by burns to skin and eyes. Risk of frostbite to body parts caused by escaping gas and by touching components near the valves when emptying gas cylinders. Risk of poisoning or suffocation caused by inhaling gas. | Remove any sources of ignition.
Warning | Risk of injury. Skin or eye injuries may result when handling hot or glowing objects. | Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses, if necessary.
Warning | Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. | Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

4 | Connect sensor (1) to endoscope (2). | Pay attention to manufacturer's operating instructions. Use sensor (1) with a diameter of 8.5 mm.
5 | Insert sensor (1) through the spark plug bore in the cylinder to be checked.
6 | Switch on endoscope (2).
7 | Position piston on the cylinder to be checked at bottom dead center. | Check position of the piston using the endoscope (2) and turn crankshaft with the turning device.

8 | Check condition of cylinder barrel, piston crown, clearance volume, and valves. | If damage is present or in cases of doubt,
| |||
remove cylinder head. | |||
9 | If necessary, check remaining cylinders in the same way. | All cylinders can be checked using 3 crankshaft positions: cylinder 1 and 6, 2 and 5 or 3 and 4.
