1 | Check for any difficulties when actuating engine start
2 | Remove all plastic covers | Remove all air intake system protections, major assemblies and exhaust vents previously installed during vehicle standstill.
3 | Check the brake discs and parking brake |
| |
. | |||
Ensure perfect cleaning of brake components, especially cleaning rusted parts such as discs and brake linings.
Remove the degreasing agent applied during standstill.
4 | Clean plastic parts | Clean the instrument cluster, steering wheel, and other plastic parts only with a soft, preferably dry cloth, if necessary moisten it with water.
Do not use any other cleaners or solvents as they may damage the paint on the panel coating, steering wheel, etc.

Before the commissioning of the vehicle:
| |||
Replace the engine conservation oil previously applied during vehicle standstill.
6 | Reinstall the service belts and observe the conservation condition of the pulleys |
| |
Vehicles 382.1 with engine 350.905
Tension the V-belts of the engine.
If the grooves of the pulleys oxidize or the belts dry out:
| |||
Clean the pulleys and replace the dry belts.
7 | Test the battery condition
| . | ||
Reconnect the ground line of the battery (in vehicles with general key switch on the key) and perform the tests.
If the battery is empty:
| |||
Reload it. | |||
|
| ||
8 | Check hydraulic steering for leaks and contamination | If leakage or contaminated hydraulic fluid is present:
| |||
Replace. | |||
| |||
| |||
9 | Check the additive A550 in the fuel | The additive A550 in the fuel must be within 6 months.
Check fuel reservoir impurities through the filter and, if necessary:
| |||
Replace the fuel filter, the filter element of the pre-filter and vent.
10 | Drain and fill the AdBlue® reservoir
11 | Check the condition of the seal covers |
| |
Vehicles 382.15/17/18, 634.0
Check the condition of the seal covers (of the axle connecting rods, axle steering bars and suspension rods).
12 | Check the mechanism and steering terminals clearance.
13 | Check the coolant level | Inspect the anti-corrosion/antifreeze concentration if it is below the specified:
| |||
Replenish it. | |||
| |||
| |||
| |||
| |||
14 | Check for impurities build-up in the air filter |
| |
15 | Check air dryer APU valve | If the air dryer cartridge is out of specification:
| |||
Replace. | |||
| |||
| |||
16 | Check the general condition of the tires | Check the general condition of the tires and wheels for possible damages, deformation, dryness, oxidation, filling valves (including the tire of the spare wheel) as well as the expiration date of the tires.
Carry out the tire calibration with the recommended pressure in the tables in the Vehicle Operation Manual.
If it is out of specification, or if it is malfunctioning:
| |||
Make the necessary repair.
17 | Check the operation of the clutch and check the fluid level of the clutch |
| |
Vehicles 382.0/1, 634.0, 384.06/07/08/09
Vehicle 688 | |||
18 | Check the transmission oil level
19 | Check operation and lubricate the air conditioning system
