| Preliminary important information | Recommended measurements must be noted, such as personal safety, accidents and environmental protection need to be prevented. | |
1 | Position the vehicle on a good place so that you can work safely. Lock the rear wheels to avoid it accidentally moves
2 | Turn the main key off | Always read out the instructions about the electronic vehicles.
| Remove | ||
3 | Remove the cover of the steering column to facilitate the access to pedal | Consult: Remove and install the steering column.
Danger! | Safety instructions regarding the brake fluid
4 | Protect the underside of the cabin against brake fluid splashes | Cover correctly the bottom of the cabin, because even great care, because it is always possible to fall brake fluid remains, which can cause paint damage or to other components.
5 | Empty the liquid of the clutch drive system | Use an equipment of bleed. Consult: Bleed the clutch driving air.
6 | Disconnect the pipe at the exit and entry of the emitter hydraulic cylinder (24). Hold the empty and without fluid pipe under the dashboard. Release the inlet pipe of the brake fluid on the emitter cylinder | Watch out for brake fluid tank.
Seal the pipe end with a cap to prevent brake fluid spills
7 | Remove the screws with fixer which secure on the main support (1) in direction to holes (1.1)
8 | Remove carefully all clutch pedal joint | Joint pedal will be assembled with support and assembled emitter cylinder.
9 | Fix the joint in an appropriated base by support (1)
Remove the driving rod joint and emitter cylinder
10 | Remove two screws with flange (25) and emitter hydraulic cylinder from support (24)
11 | Remove the snap ring (9) at the upper part, spacer washer (8), articulation axle (6) and driving rod joint (7) of the emitter hydraulic cylinder. Remove the hood protection (26) of the driving rod
Remove the auxiliary adjustable spring joint of the pedal
12 | Releasing the nut (21) on the rod (22) to loose the auxiliary spring (19) and remove the sliding fork (18) of the axle (17). Remove the auxiliary spring (19) and spring plate (20) | If necessary, remove the support axle (17) of the auxiliary support spring (1).
13 | Remove the nut with flange (13), spacer ring (12), guide bush (11), screw (10), and central rod of spring (22)
Remove the clutch pedal of support articulation
14 | Remove the snap rings (3) on both sides, articulation axles (4), and separator washers (5). Remove the pedal (2)
15 | Remove the foot support trim from pedal (14)
Remove the pedal limiter stopper
16 | Release the nut with flange (15.1) and stopper with integrated support screw (15)
| Clean | ||
17 | Clean all components | The spherical joints must not be washed, clean them dry with a clean cloth to be lubricate with grease after that.
| Check | ||
18 | Check all components which can show wear or damages, specially the spherical articulations of rods (7) and (22). Replace what you need to | Replace at the assembly: Snap rings (3) and (9), spacer or separator washers (5) and (8), foot support trim on the pedal (14), limiter stopper (15) of the pedal, and protection hood (26). Replace the auxiliary spring (19) if they have been with insufficient pressure.
| Install | ||
Install the clutch pedal in its support articulation
19 | Put the pedal (2) in the support, install lubricated articulation axle (4), separating washers (5) and new snap rings (3) on both sides. Install a new footrest (14) on pedal (2) | Inside of pedal joint and axle must be well lubricated on the assembly.
Install the driving rod joint and emitter cylinder
20 | Prepare the driving rod (7) for assembly | If necessary, adjust "D" length and lubricate spherical joint (7.3) indicated by arrows.
21 | Install the driving rod joint (7) at the upper part of pedal, lubricated articulation axle (6), spacer washer (8) and new snap ring (9). Install a new protection hood (26) | Lubricate also a new rod end at the semi-spherical part of contact of piston.
22 | Install the emitter hydraulic cylinder (24) in the support (1). Put two screws with flange (25) and tighten them | Stepwise tighten the screws.
23 | Adjust the clearance of rod: Hold the rod with a wrench, loose the nut (7.2) into thread (7.1) and turn manually the rod (7) until being closer, then turn gently the rod and fix it into nut (7.2) | Emitter hydraulic cylinder has a piston return spring, and even when there is no pressure, it is possible to adjust the "E" clearance of the rod beforehand.
Final adjustment will be carried out after bleeding the hydraulic system of the driving clutch.
Install and regulate the pedal limiter stopper
24 | Install the nut (15.1) in the new limiter stopper (15). Install the limiter stopper in the support and regulate "C" measurement, press the nut (15.1) with the appropriated torque | “C” measurement of stopper.
Rubber stopper must be clean.
| |||
Install the auxiliary adjustable spring joint of the pedal
25 | Prepare the driving rod (22) for assembly | Lubricate the spherical joint (22.2) indicated by arrows.
26 | install the central rod of auxiliary spring (22) (with lightly lubricated contact parts): The nut (21) on the screwed part (22.1) of rod, spring plate (20), new auxiliary spring (19) and sliding fork (18)
27 | Install the complete rod supported with sliding fork (18) on the axle (17) and articulation of guide bush (11) on pedal (2) the bush of guide articulation (11), spacer ring (12) and tighten normally the self-locking nut with fixer (13)
28 | Tighten the nut (21) with assembled rod until auxiliary spring (19) reaches "A" measurement
Install the complete pedal joint on the main support
29 | Assemble the complete clutch pedal joint with support (1) on the main support and fix it with screws with indicated flanges on the holes (1.1)
30 | Connect the supply pipe of the brake fluid on the emitter hydraulic cylinder and install fixation clamp
31 | Connect the outlet pipe of the emitter cylinder and tighten it normally
Connect the electrical cables on the clutch pedal switch (23)
32 | Fill the clutch driving system with brake liquid and perform the bleed | Use an equipment of bleed. Consult: Bleed the clutch driving air.
33 | Confirm the driving rod adjustment (7) of emitter cylinder | "E" clearance between rod and piston.
34 | Adjust the clutch pedal
35 | Install the cover of the steering column to facilitate access to pedal | Consult: Remove and install the steering column.
36 | Check if everything is OK, remove the internal protection of the cabin, turn the main switch on and perform a test drive |
