Remove clutch pressure plate (3) with clutch disc (4)

 Loosen screws (5) crosswise and in small steps to avoid excessive one-sided load.



Check

Check friction surface of clutch pressure plate (3)

 If there are any burns, grooves or cracks on the friction surface, replace clutch pressure plate (3).

Check friction surface of clutch disk (4)

 If there are any burns, grooves or cracks on the friction surface, replace clutch disk (4).

Check friction surface of engine flywheel

 If there are any burns, grooves or cracks on the friction surface, machine or replace engine flywheel (4).

Check condition of engine flywheel guide bearing and lubricate bearing lightly

 In case of visible wear or malfunction replace engine flywheel guide bearing.

Install flywheel guide bearing

Check clutch release bearing condition

 In case of visible wear or malfunction replace clutch release bearing.

Check condition of clutch fork assembly (6) for ease of movement and component wear

 In case of visible wear or malfunction of clutch fork assembly (6) replace relevant components of clutch fork assembly (6).

Lubricate lightly the grooved profile of clutch disk hub (4) and verify smoothness of movement on drive shaft

 Clutch disk must move smoothly but without excessive play on drive shaft.

 Remove excessive grease to avoid contamination of clutch lining.

Installation

Use a centering pin to center clutch disk (4) on engine flywheel

 Assure correct mounting position for clutch disk. The larger side of the disk hub must face the transmission.

Withdraw centering pin only after tightening plate fastening screws.



Mount clutch pressure plate (3) on engine flywheel

 Tighten screws (5) diagonally in small steps. While tightening screws, use centering pin to continuously verify ease of movement. If clutch disk (4) is stuck or off center, transmission mounting and, consequently, gear shifting will be difficult.



Mount clutch release bearing (1)

 Lubricate drive shaft (7) lightly.

Remove excessive grease

Fit clutch release bearing (1)

 Clutch release bearing (1) can be fitted to locking ring (2) by pulling clutch fork assembly (6) by hand through the opening for clutch actuator (17).
