Remove and install

Danger!

Open the cooling system only at temperatures below 90 °C. Cautiously open the filler cap to release excess pressure. Coolant must not be stored in beverage or drinking water containers. Wear gloves, adequate clothing and safety goggles.

Turn off ignition

Drain coolant from radiator (3)

Installation: Return cab to original position only after leak tightness test.

Remove expansion tank (11)

Remove the fan

Remove hydraulic lines (2) from guide bows (1) in cab and on engine; put them aside and tie them down

 Only in vehicles with Code (GS3) hydraulic transmission control.

Do not separate hydraulic line (2).

Remove coolant tube (10) together with oil feeder line (4) from after-cooler (9) and cab

 Collect leaking coolant.

Remove coolant tube (6)

 Collect leaking coolant.

Remove transmission oil lines (7) from radiator (3)

 Only in vehicles with Code (N55), transmission oil cooler.

Collect oil leaking from the transmission and close openings.

Remove refrigerant line bracket from radiator (3) and fastening clamps from condenser (8)

 Only on vehicles with code (H03), air conditioning in the front frame.

Do not separate cooling pipes.

Withdraw condenser (8) from after-cooler (9) and attach it to the cab

 Only on vehicles with code (H03), air conditioning in the front frame.

Remove left bracket (5) from radiator suspension

Lift radiator (3) and after-cooler (9) with pit lifting equipment and remove left bracket (5)

 Protect radiator (3) and after-cooler (9) against falling.

Lift and remove radiator (3) together with after-cooler (9)

Installation: Check radiator suspension for damage, replace as necessary.

Remove radiator (3) fan cover

 Only in case of a complaint or for radiator (3) replacement

Remove after-cooler (9) from radiator (3)

 Only in case of a complaint or for radiator (3) or after-cooler (9) replacement.

Install in reverse order

Check transmission oil level, correct as needed

 Only in vehicles with Code (N55), transmission oil cooler.

Installation: Maintain oil quality as indicated in the maintenance system and also the specifications for auxiliary materials.
