Please remember that the correct coolant composition must always be strictly observed.
To ensure optimum heat dissipation and corrosion protection, an anticorrosion/antifreeze concentration of 50 % must be set. This concentration guarantees antifreeze protection down to approx. -37 °C. Higher concentrations, up to max. 55 %, are only useful at even lower ambient temperatures and guarantee antifreeze protection down to approx. -45 °C.
With the correct coolant composition, the antifreeze protection should therefore be between -37 °C and -45 °C.
Anticorrosion/antifreeze concentrations lower than 50 % are not to be used because in this case the silicate content of the coolant is too low.
An inadequate silicate content reduces the anti-corrosion protection considerably and can result in damage to components of the engine cooling system or to the engine.
Anticorrosion/antifreeze concentrations of more than 55 % are not to be used as the maximum antifreeze protection is already reached at this concentration.
An even higher concentration reduces the anti-freeze protection and impairs heat dissipation. Reduced heat dissipation can result in damage to components of the engine cooling system and to the engine.
