2 | Remove 14-pin diagnostic socket in the footwell of the driver | Do not disconnect lines. | |
3 | Remove stowage compartment above diagnostic socket from instrument panel | ||
4 | Remove cover in instrument cluster | ||

5 | Remove instrument cluster and swivel to rear | ||
6 | Remove cover on center part of instrument panel | ||

7 | Remove stowage compartment below control and operating unit for climate control from the covering that has been removed | ||
8 | Remove air conditioning pushbutton control unit | Do not remove cables. | |

9 | Remove driver's seat | ||

10 | Remove top cover from driver seat box | ||

12 | Remove seat frame from rear bench seat and fold up rear bench seat | ||
13 | Remove scuff plate from rear door | ||

14 | Make cutouts for exhaust gas, combustion air, fuel supply and fastening | ||
15 | Install heater | ||

18 | Install climate control pushbutton control unit | ||

19 | Install covering on center part of instrument panel | Lead out branch-off line of timer from the mounting hole of the stowage compartment that has been removed below the control and operating unit for climate control. | |

20 | Connect plug of timer branch-off line to timer (1) and insert timer at the location of the stowage compartment that has been removed below the control and operating unit for climate control | ||
Danger! | Risk of explosion caused by fuel vapors igniting, risk of poisoning caused by inhaling combustible gases and risk of injury caused by burns during and after operation of heater unit | Do not operate stationary heater, auxiliary heater or engine with heater booster in closed areas or when refueling. Allow heater unit to cool down after operation and wear protective gloves. | |
21 | Switch on air heater (3) as described in operator's manual and perform function test as described in manufacturer's instructions | Inspect fuel lines for signs of leaks during function check. | |
22 | Install remaining parts onto vehicle | ||
