| Removing, installing | ||
| Differentiating characteristics stationary heater/stationary preheater/heater booster | Model 210 | |
1 | Remove lower section of noise encapsulation at front
2 | Remove right inner fender wheel arch cover
Danger! | Risk of injury to skin and eyes from scalding with hot coolant which splashes out. Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant. | Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage bottles. Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and eye protection.
3 | Relieve pressure in the coolant circuit | In order to achieve this, turn coolant compensation tank closure cap to locking position 1.
4 | Pinch off coolant supply hose (4) and coolant outlet hose (3)
5 | Remove exhaust gas line (14) from heater unit (A6) and from bracket (11)
6 | Disconnect coolant supply hose (4) from heater unit | Collect escaping coolant in a clean vessel and return to the coolant compensation tank following the installation of the heater unit.
7 | Unscrew bolts (6) for heater unit attachment from the left and right side of the bracket (11)
8 | Remove heater unit (A6) from bracket (11), starting from the right side of the vehicle
9 | Unclip electrical connection lead couplings (9 and 10)
10 | Pinch off fuel supply line (7) and disconnect at heater unit (A6) | Collect escaping fuel with a cloth.
11 | Disconnect coolant outlet hose (3) from heater unit (A6) | Collect escaping coolant in a clean vessel and return to the coolant compensation tank following the installation of the heater unit.
| Disassembling, assembling | ||
12 | Disconnect combustion air intake hose (12) at the heater unit (A6)
13 | Install in the reverse order
Testing | |||
14 | Bleed the coolant circuit after installing the heater unit
Danger! | Risk of explosion from fuel vapors, risk of poisoning from inhaling combustion gases and risk of injury from burns during and after operation of heater unit. | Do not operate stationary heater or engine with heater booster in enclosed rooms or whilst fueling. Allow heater unit to cool down after operation and wear protective gloves.
15 | Carry out heater booster (ZUH) diagnostic function test
16 | Check cooling system for leaks |
