 Danger

Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.

Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

Remove trim of right cylinder head cover.

Remove screw/bolt (2).

 Bolt, diesel particulate filter to cylinder head holder

Remove differential pressure sensor from bracket.

 Disconnect electrical connector and unscrew nuts. Do not remove pressure hoses.

Raise vehicle.

Remove the underfloor paneling on the right.

If installed.

 Installation: Do not reinstall the underfloor paneling on the right until after you have performed a leak test.

Remove the rear engine support.

Remove temperature sensor from the diesel particulate filter (6).

 Do not disconnect electrical connector.

Remove NOx sensor upstream of SCR catalytic converter from the diesel particulate filter (6).

Remove bolt (3) .

Remove clamp (5).

 Installation: Replace the clamp (5).

Remove the diesel particulate filter (6) downwards.

 Installation: Replace seal on exhaust pipe downstream of exhaust gas turbocharger.

Modify differential pressure sensor.

If the diesel particulate filter (6) is replaced.

Modify pressure lines.

Install in the reverse order.

Perform initialization of diesel particulate filter (6) with vehicle diagnosis system.

If diesel particulate filter (6) was replaced.



Connect/disconnect diagnostic unit

 Warning

Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.
