Remove rear bottom part of soundproofing

 Installation: Only install rear bottom part of soundproofing after the engine test run.

Remove lateral strut (35)

Unscrew nuts (13a) of bracket (13) from tapping plate (13b)

 Check rubber mount (13c) for bracket for wear. Replace if necessary.

Support catalytic converter (111) or pipe using transmission jack and transmission platform

Disconnect primary catalytic converter (120/1) from catalytic converter (111) by removing clamp (22)

Engine 646 without particulate filter, engine 647

 Installation: Install new sealing cone (23).



Disconnect diesel particulate filter from pipe by removing pipe clamp

Detach rear muffler (9a) from exhaust rubber mounts (9/1, 9/2)

 Check exhaust rubber mount (9/1, 9/2) for wear; replace if required.



Lift out exhaust system

 Model 211.016/616: Turn exhaust system through 45° around longitudinal axis.

Install in the reverse order

Check installation position and clearance of exhaust system

 The exhaust system must be mounted free of tension, align exhaust system if required.

 Danger!

Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running

Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not touch hot or rotating parts.
