Remove

Extract hydraulic fluid from power steering expansion reservoir

 Hand pump

Detach left front wheel

Remove left fender liner

Remove charge air hose downstream of charge air cooler

Remove poly-V-belt

Detach coolant line (13) from holder (12)

Remove bolt (4)

Detach electric line (7) from power-steering pump (11)

Unscrew banjo bolt (2), detach hydraulic line (3) from power-steering pump (11) and seal openings using suitable stop plugs

 Collect escaping hydraulic fluid using an absorbent rag.

Loosen clamp (6), pull hydraulic hose (5) off power-steering pump (11) and seal openings using suitable stop plugs

 Collect escaping hydraulic fluid using an absorbent rag.

Remove threaded connection (10)

Remove bolt (9)

Unscrew screw (1) and remove power-steering pump (11)



Install

Position power-steering pump (11) on major assembly carrier

Tighten screws (1, 9) slightly by hand

Tighten threaded connection (10)

 Screw/nut, power steering pump bracket to major assembly carrier

Tighten screws (1, 9)

Remove stop plugs and attach hydraulic hose (5) to power-steering pump (11) using clamp (6)

 Hose clamp pliers

Remove stop plugs and attach hydraulic line (3) to power-steering pump (11) using banjo bolt (2)

 Install new seals.

Attach electric line (7) to power-steering pump (11)

Tighten screw (4)

 Screw/bolt, charge air pipe to engine bracket

Attach coolant line (13) to holder (12)

 Warning

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.
