Remove

Remove transfer case (9)

Release coolant line (7) on timing case and slide to one side

Remove heat shield (2)

Operate service brake and remove screws/bolts (3)


Do not counterhold the propeller shaft (1) at the universal joint.
Otherwise the needle roller bearings and seals of the propeller shaft (1) will be damaged.

 Helper required.

Remove propeller shaft (1) from front axle differential and take out downwards

Check seal bellows (6) for damage

In event of damage to seal bellows (6)



Install new seal bellows (6).

Position drive shaft (1) onto front axle transmission

Operate service brake and tighten new bolts (3)


Do not counterhold the propeller shaft (1) at the universal joint.
Otherwise the needle roller bearings and seals of the propeller shaft (1) will be damaged.

 Helper required.

 Screw/bolt, propeller shaft to front axle gear

Install heat shield (2)

 Collar bolt, heat shield to holder of heat shield/retaining plate/front axle differential

Mount coolant line (7) onto timing case
