Disconnect propeller shaft from drive flange (2)

 Support propeller shaft.

Release collar nut (1)

 The securing tabs must be completely sheared off, as otherwise a small residue of the securing tab, when unscrewing the collar nuts, can damage the drive shaft's thread.

Detach collar nut (1)

 Retainer wrench

Remove drive flange (2)

Remove radial sealing ring (3) from threaded ring (4)



Check

Check threaded ring (4) for tight seating

 If the threaded ring (4) can be turned by hand, then the threaded ring (4) and the through-drive cover must be replaced:



Remove/install cover for through-drive

Check threaded ring (4) for leaktightness

 If the thread on the threaded ring (4) has a leak, then the thread has to be sealed:



Remove/install threaded ring on through-drive input shaft.

Install new radial sealing ring (3) into threaded ring (4)

Install drive flange (2)

 If radial sealing ring (3) galling is found on the drive flange (2), a new drive flange (2) with a dust protection ring has to be installed.

Apply a light coating of oil to the drive flange (2) on the radial sealing ring's contact surface (3).
