Remove corresponding rear axle shaft (37)

Pry radial shaft sealing ring (32a) out of rear axle differential (50) using a suitable tool


Do not damage the seat of the radial shaft sealing ring (32a) in the rear axle differential (50).
Otherwise leaks may occur.

Clean seat surface of radial shaft sealing ring (32a) in rear axle differential (50)

Check seat surface of radial shaft sealing ring (32a) in rear axle differential (50) for damage

If damaged.



Replace rear axle differential (50).

Install

Moisten sealing lip of new radial shaft sealing ring (32a) with transmission oil



Universal hypoid gear oils (specification 235.7)

Do not apply any oil to the seat surface in rear axle differential (50) and around the outer circumference of radial shaft sealing ring (32a).
Otherwise leaks may occur.

Press in new radial shaft sealing ring (32a) using drift (03) until drift (03) makes contact with rear axle differential (50)

Replace retaining ring (37o) on inner splined profile of corresponding rear axle shaft (37)

Install corresponding rear axle shaft (37)

Check oil level in rear axle differential (50) and correct, if necessary
