Remove engine compartment encapsulation underneath transmission

Remove passenger seats above transmission maintenance flap.

Remove transmission maintenance flap.

Danger!

Risk of injury to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolant spray. Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant.

Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage bottles.

Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and eye protection.

Drain coolant

To do this, unscrew the drain plug from the radiator and collect the coolant in a suitable container.

Installation: Replace seal! Screw in drain plug. Top up coolant (pour in same quantity as that drained) and check filling capacity.

Slacken fixing clamps at oil cooler coolant connection (13) and pull off coolant hose.

Installation: check fixing clamps and replace if necessary. Ensure the coolant hoses are seated firmly.

Unscrew transmission oil drain plug and let the oil drain out

 Catch oil with suitable vessel.

Installation: Replace seal.

Fill transmission with oil



Unscrew hexagon bolt (5) and remove transmission housing oil pipe bracket (4).



Installation: replace lock nut.

Detach oil cooler (6) from oil cooler bracket (12).



Installation: replace spring washers.

Unscrew pan head screws (2) from transmission housing connecting piece (1).



Remove oil pipe (3) complete with transmission housing connecting piece (1) and oil cooler (6).

 Installation: Stick gasket onto connecting piece with Vaseline

Remove oil pipe bracket connecting piece and oil cooler oil pipe bracket (8).



Detach oil pipes from transmission housing connecting piece (1) and oil cooler (6).

 Do not use a hammer to attach oil lines.

 Installation: Replace O-rings and lightly grease with vaseline.

oil pipes are only installed with transmission housing connecting piece and oil cooler removed.
