Remove

Remove drive unit.

 The drive unit consists of the drive shaft, multidisk clutch K2, front planet carrier, internal plate carrier, multidisk clutch K1 and multidisk brakeB3.

Remove screws (17a).

Screw two opposing screws (17a) into housing (17g).

Remove oil pump (17).

 To do so, release oil pump (17) using suitable tool. Mark installation position of oil pump (17).

Remove screws (17a).

Remove oil pump (17).

Remove screws (16a).

Remove multidisk brake B1 (16).

 Loosen the multidisk brake B1 (16) by applying gentle blows using a plastic mallet.

If required



Disassemble/assemble multi-disk brake B1

Remove seal (1d).



Install

Place seal (1d) on torque converter housing (1w) and align.

 The seal (1d) can normally be reused several times. The seal (1d) must not exhibit any scratches and must not be coated with sealant.

Attach multidisk brake B1 (16) to torque converter housing (1w).



Lubricate components before installation.
Otherwise damage can occur during the startup phase when the transmission is being put into service.

 The installation position is predetermined by a dowel pin on the multidisk brake B1 (16).

Replace radial shaft sealing ring of oil pump (17).

Replace sealing ring (17o).

Attach oil pump (17).

 Insert the impeller (17r) in such a way that the chamfer (arrow) points toward the housing (17g).

Install drive unit.
