Disassemble/assemble oil filter housing of torque converter clutch

 Danger!

Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by jamming and burns when working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running

Secure vehicle to prevent it moving off.

Always wear appropriate work clothing when working on the vehicle.

Drain oil at the oil drain screw (14) at the torque converter clutch housing and at the transmission

 Installation: Replace sealing rings on the oil drain screws (14).



Detach pan (2) and gasket (8)

 Installation: Replace gasket (8).
Install pan (2) so that the deep side of the pan (2) is above the intake opening and points upwards.



Remove left spring (4) and washer (5)

 Installation: The lugs on the leaf spring (4) must point towards the filter (6).



Remove filter (6) and bush (7)

 Installation: Replace filter (6).

 Observe installation position:

The sheet-metal cover of the filter (2) must point outwards.

Assemble in the reverse order

Check adjusted oil quality in Telligent servicing system and adjust the quality of the oil to be poured in if necessary

Remove oil filler screw (12) and inspection plug (13)

Pour in approx. 25 l oil at the opening of the oil filler screw (12)



Start engine and allow to run with the highest gear engaged

 Engage parking brake.

Pour in oil at opening of oil filler screw (12) until oil runs out at inspection plug (13)

 Filling quantity depends on the version

approx. 25 to 40 l.

Screw in oil filler screw (12) and inspection plug (13)

 Install new sealing rings.



Shift the manual transmission into neutral, allow the engine to run for 2 to 3 minutes at approx. 1200 rpm

 This is necessary so that the heat exchanger, oil reservoir and oil lines can be filled completely with oil.

Check transmission oil and correct if necessary

Check oil filter housing for leaks

 Visual inspection.
