Remove

Remove transmission.

Install retaining lock (1) at starter ring gear.

 Model 415 with engine 200 with transmission 700.720
 The space available on the starter ring gear means that the retaining lock (1) can only be rotated through 180° and can only be installed at the lower bore on the crankcase, as otherwise the teeth of the  retaining lock (1) will not engage correctly in the starter ring gear.

Remove bolts (2) .


Unscrew the bolts (2) in stages in a crosswise sequence.
The clutch pressure plate (3) can otherwise be damaged due to tilting or distortion.

Remove clutch pressure plate (3) and clutch plate (4) from flywheel (5).

 Make sure that the friction surfaces of the clutch plate (4) are assigned correctly.



Check

Check clutch pressure plate (3) and clutch plate (4) for damage and wear.

If the clutch pressure plate (3) or clutch plate (4) is damaged or worn.



Replace clutch pressure plate (3) or clutch plate (4).

Check flywheel (5) for damage and wear.

If damage or wear is present,



Install new flywheel (5).

Clean

Remove friction surface on flywheel (5) using coarse abrasive paper.

If flywheel (5) is not replaced.

Remove friction surface on clutch pressure plate (3) using coarse abrasive paper.

If clutch pressure plate (3) is not replaced.



Install

Mount clutch pressure plate (3) with clutch plate (4) onto flywheel (5) and center using centering pin (6).


Make sure that the friction surfaces of the clutch plate (4) are at the correct installation position and assigned correctly. The collar (arrow) on the corresponding clutch plate (4) (version A or version B) must face towards the transmission.
Incorrect installation will damage the clutch pressure plate (3), clutch plate (4) and the transmission.

 Version A or version B of the clutch plate (4) may be installed depending on the production level. Note on installation position is printed on version A.

Fix clutch pressure plate (3) in place on the flywheel (5) using three bolts (2).

 In the process only screw in the bolts (2) approx. one revolution.

Position remaining bolts (2).

Tighten screws (2).


Tighten screws (2) one revolution each at a time in a crosswise pattern.
Otherwise, the clutch pressure plate (3) may be damaged due to tilting or disortion.

Remove retaining lock (1) and centering pin (6).
