Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

Remove/install

Remove radiator.

Secure fan unit (1) against falling down.

 Fan unit (1) consists of fan motor and fan shroud.

Remove coolant hose (2) at expansion reservoir.

 Clamp engages in opened position. Clamp is secured to coolant hose (2). Collect escaping coolant. Plug openings.

Disconnect electrical connector (3).

Remove the electrical wiring harness (4).

 Installation: Check retaining clip.

Depending on the findings,



Replace damaged retaining clip.

Disconnect electrical connector (5).

Remove electrical wiring harness (6).

 Installation: Check retaining clips

Depending on the findings,



Replace damaged retaining clips.

Detach electrical connector (7).

Remove coolant hose (8) from bracket at fan unit (1).

 Installation: Check retaining clip.

Depending on the findings,



Replace damaged retaining clip.

Detach electrical connection (9).

Remove coolant hoses (10, 11) at shutoff valve (12).

 Clamps engage in opened position. Clamps are secured to respective coolant hose (10, 11). Collect escaping coolant. Seal coolant hoses (10, 11).

Remove fan unit (1).

 For this purpose, secure retainer against falling down and remove fan unit (1).

Install in the reverse order.



 Warning

Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.
