Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.

Remove/install

Drain off coolant.

Remove poly-V-belt.

Remove catalytic converter (2) and place to one side with connected lines.

Remove exhaust gas aftertreatment unit and place to one side with connected lines.

Detach the switchover valve (3) from the bracket (4).

Remove bracket (4).

Remove retaining pin (5).

Remove electrical wiring harness (6) from coolant pump (1).

Remove screw for electrical wiring harness (6) from the crankcase.

Remove electrical wiring harness (6) from crankcase.

Remove screws (8).

 Screw, bearing housing/belt pulley to water pump

Remove vacuum line (7) from coolant pump (1).

Remove coolant pump (1) and catch escaping coolant in a suitable container.

 Installation: Replace seal.

Clean sealing surfaces with a lint-free rag.

Install in the reverse order.

 Metric screws/bolts and nuts as per MBN 10 105, 10 143
