Remove/install

Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off the lifting platform.

Align vehicle between columns of lifting platform and position four support plates at the lifting platform support points specified by vehicle manufacturer.

Turn key in ignition lock to position "0"

 On vehicles with Keyless-Go, code 889: Press keyless go start/stop button repeatedly until ignition is switched off

Remove the Keyless Go transmitter card or transmitter key from vehicle and store beyond reach of the transmitter (at least

2 m).

Raise vehicle with vehicle lift

Remove rear section of lower engine compartment paneling

 Installation: Install engine compartment paneling only after engine test run.

Unclip electrical connector and electrical feed line for corresponding O2 sensor out of retaining clamps on transmission

Disconnect electrical connector for corresponding O2 sensor

Remove corresponding O2 sensor out of the catalytic converter completely

 Installation: Coat thread with heat-resistant lubricant.



Install in the reverse order

Read out fault memory

 Stored fault entries which may be caused by disconnecting cables or by simulation during removal and installation or inspection operations, must be erased from the fault memory after work is completed.



Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory
