1	Switch off ignition
2	Clean engine in area of high-pressure lines (1)
3	Remove compressor resonator	Only when removing the high-pressure line (1) from cylinder 5 or 6 for engine 471.9, 473.9.

5	Remove high-pressure lines from fuel high-pressure pump to rail (2)	Only when removing the high-pressure line (1) from cylinder 6 for engine 473.9.

6	Remove fuel return line (5) from rail (2)	Only when removing the high-pressure line (1) from cylinder 5 or 6 for engine 470.9, 471.9.
		 Installation: Install new sealing rings.

7	Remove fuel return line (5) from rail (2)	Only when removing the high-pressure line (1) from cylinder 6 for engine 473.9.
		 Installation: Install new sealing rings.

9	Remove respective high-pressure line (1)	 The removed high-pressure lines (1) must always be replaced. Leaks may occur otherwise.
		 Installation: Position high-pressure line (1), first tighten on injection nozzle and then on the rail (2).

10	Remove screw/bolts (3) and take off seal (4)	Only if seal (4) is leaky.
		 Installation: Coat inside of seal (4) with engine oil. Do not tighten screws (3) yet.
11.1	Seal openings on rail (2)) with the stop plugs	If during continued work the fuel high-pressure circuit should be checked for leaktightness using the diagnostic system.

11.2	Seal openings on rail (2) using dust caps	If during continued work the fuel high-pressure circuit should not be checked for leaktightness using the diagnostic system.
12	Install in the reverse order
13	Start engine and perform an engine test run	 Allow engine to run at a higher rotational speed.
		If engine fails to start or only runs for a brief period.
		
		Fill fuel low-pressure circuit.

14	Check area of the high-pressure lines (1) on the rail (2) and seals (4) for leak tightness	 Visual inspection.
15	Turn off engine
