Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.

Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

Remove/install

Remove engine cover.

 Installation: Do not install engine cover until after the leak test.

Remove hose (5) from brackets.

Model 470 with engine 699.304/305

 Installation: Check retaining clips for damage.

If damage exists,



replace affected retaining clip.

Remove hose (2) from fuel temperature sensor (1).

Model 470, 471 with engine 699.300/301/302/303

 Capture escaping fuel and seal connections.

 Installation: Check clamp (3) for damage.

If damage exists,

Replace clamp (3).

Remove hose (5) from the fuel filter.

Model 470 with engine 699.304/305

 To do this, actuate release on the hose (5). Capture escaping fuel and seal connections.

Disconnect electrical connection (4).

Remove fuel temperature sensor (1).

 For this purpose, actuate release on the fuel temperature sensor (1) and detach fuel temperature sensor (1). Capture escaping fuel and seal connections.

The fuel temperature sensor (1) and hose (5) form a unit.

Install in the reverse order.



 Warning

Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.
