Remove injection nozzles (30)

Risk of explosion caused by test oil being ignited. Risk of injury to skin and eyes caused by test oil streaming out

Keep all ignition sources out of the hazard area. Only check injection nozzles in the nozzle testing device. Do not touch the injection nozzle stream.

Connect injection nozzle (30) to the testing unit (52)

Close valve (a) on testing unit (52) and pump injection nozzle (30) with testing unit (52) vigorously approx. 5 times

Perform a "chatter test"; to do this actuate lever (b) on test equipment (52) slowly and evenly (about 1 stroke/s)

The jet stream must come out with a soft chatter noise, if necessary:.



perform a "spray pattern test" by actuating the lever (b) on the test equipment (52) vigourously (about 3 strokes/s)

The spray pattern must be closed and well atomized (picture A); if the spray pattern is broadly scattered, too wide or stringy (picture B).



Open valve (a) on testing unit (52)

Check the "ejection pressure"; to do this actuate the lever (b) on the test equipment (52) slowly (about 1 stroke/s and read off ejection pressure on pressure gauge of the test equipment (52)
