12 | Clean sealing surfaces of the high-pressure pump (1) | Cold degreasing agent/cold cleaning solvent HAKU 1025-920
| Install | ||
13 | Fix gear (12) for high-pressure pump | If a new high-pressure pump (1) has been installed.
14 | Install new sealing ring (11) | Coat sealing ring (11) with engine oil.
15 | Attach marking to tooth (A) of the gearwheel (12) | For this purpose, the high-pressure pump (1) must be stopped in the removed state in the installation position on the cylinder head.
Place groove (13) vertically, determine tooth (A) from the left edge (13a) of the groove (13) vertically upward and mark.
16 | Attach markings to teeth (E, F) of the gearwheel (12) | For this purpose, the high-pressure pump (1) must be stopped in the removed state in the installation position on the cylinder head.
Starting from tooth (A) and proceeding counterclockwise, determine teeth (E, F). Here, tooth (A) is the 1st tooth, tooth (E) is the 5th tooth, and tooth F is the 6th tooth.
17 | Adjust gearwheel (12) relative to high-pressure pump (1) | For this purpose, the high-pressure pump (1) must be stopped in the removed state in the installation position on the cylinder head.
Teeth (E, F) must be positioned in the center at the top.
18 | Attach high-pressure pump (1) to cylinder head

29 | Switch on ignition before engine start | If a new high-pressure pump (1) has been installed.
| |||
Because of this, the new high-pressure pump (1) is filled with fuel.
| Check | ||
Danger | Risk of explosion caused by fuel igniting. Risk of injury to skin and eyes caused by fuel spraying out at high pressure | Keep all ignition sources out of hazard area.
Warning | Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. | Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.
30 | Check for leak tightness with engine running | Visual inspection only. |
