Remove/Install

Danger!

Risk of explosion caused by escaping natural gas or an overheated compressed-gas tanks when working on natural gas powered vehicles. Risk of frostbite to body parts due to escaping natural gas or from contact with components near the valves when draining compressed-gas tanks. Risk of poisoning or risk of suffocation from inhaling natural gas.

Remove any sources of ignition.

Ensure that the work area is adequately ventilated.

Wear heat-protective gloves.

Close gas shutoff valves at compressed-gas tanks

Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns when working in engine during starting procedure

Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not grasp hot or rotating parts.

Start the engine and allow it to run with the vehicle stationary until the engine stops on its own.

Push extraction hose onto exhaust pipe. After engine has stopped, switch ignition off. Gas system is adequately emptied after engine stops.

Remove gas hose connection (to pressure regulator) (2) from gas filter (1)

Installation: Install new sealing ring (3)

Remove gas hose connection (to gas distributor rail) (5) at gas distributor rail (6)

Installation: Install new sealing ring (3)

Remove gas filter (1)

Slacken the bottom bolt at the bracket (4)

Remove gas hose connection (to gas distributor rail ) (5) from gas filter (1)

Installation: Install new sealing ring (3)

Install in the reverse order

Inspect gas hose connection (to pressure regulator) (2) and gas hose connection (to gas distributor rail) (5) for leaks

Moisten connections all round with soapy suds. Inspect connections for formation of bubbles.
